NEWS - Highly Suspect announce new album + release 2 new songs
Highly Suspect have been silent on the new music front for the last 3 years, since the release of their second album The Boy Who Died Wolf. After a series of cryptic tweets for the past couple of weeks, we finally have the announcement that fans of the band (including myself) have been waiting for.
With two new singles to show fans the ever-growing sound of Highly Suspect, we have ‘16’ which is a four and a half Alt-Pop banger that sounds like an evolution of the more mainstream sound listeners were given in TBWDW.
We also have ‘Upperdrugs’, which blends the poppy songwriting of TBWDW while musically sounding closer to Mister Asylum and throwing in the guitar solo of the year to be the icing on the already perfected cake.
Sticking with the themes most often found within Highly Suspect’s song writing, MCID is the dark diary of Johnny Steven’s life to this point, handling subjects such as his self loathing and body image issues, his history of substance abuse, opening discussing his complicated past and so much more.
That’s not all though. Accompanying the 3-piece titans are an insanely wide range of Hip Hop features, a weird yet fitting collaboration with metal legends Gojira and most likely a few more wildcards being thrown into the mix too.
The third studio album from Highly Suspect, MCID, is due for release on November 1st 2019.
